Cathy O’Neill’s excellent book, Weapons of Math Destruction, is a bit scary. It was clear that the application of algorithms is not as simple or neutral as many proponents would have us believe. This is an excellent conversation about the problems and ethics of AI. And its not about when some super-AI starts to rule over mankind, but how what is happening now is troubling. Given how fashionable this is, investors in this area should understand what is going on.
